We offer year-round beginner through advanced level lessons for children ages 4 and up. Lessons are available in any discipline, English or Western, though typically kids start in an English saddle to develop a strong core and greater sense of balance.  All children's lessons are private lessons until the ability is developed to ride independently at each of the three main gates; at which time semi-private or small group lessons are also available.  Lessons are structured in one-hour sessions and provide an all-around horsemanship education. During the hour your child will learn safety on the ground, parts of the tack and caring for saddles and bridles, grooming, basic first aid, and of course, riding!

Should your child develop an interest in competing at local horse shows, they can join the High Country Stables Show Team! As pictured above, the team is comprised of kids, teenagers and young adults who work with their trainer(s) to travel as a group to local area Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, and open shows!!

The HCS Kids lesson program and the HCS Show Team are overseen by Stefanie Flutie and Kim Klein.  More information about these talented, patient, super trainers is available on our Professional Trainers page.  Please contact Kim or Stefanie for more information!
